Traci and Whelan drive the golf cart past the Saint’s beach, which is decorated in pink and white stripes. Beyond a “No Trespassing” sign is what she calls “Secret Beach.” She tells Whelan about Ric’s call and that she invited him to a picnic as a distraction. In response, Whelan kisses her. Traci is concerned because he is her employee. They swim and enjoy their picnic until Andy calls, asking to meet with Traci.

Chapter 58 Summary

Andy tells Traci that the changes Ric made to Fred’s will leave everything to surviving heirs. However, there is a daughter of Fred’s that no one else knows about. Twenty-one years ago, Fred told Andy he’d been tricked by “a little gold-digger” who got pregnant on purpose (331). After a paternity test proved positive, Andy drew up a financial settlement for the young woman, in return for which she signed a nondisclosure agreement. When he realized that the young woman had been manipulated, Andy felt ashamed of going through with the contract. Traci asks the identity of the young woman.
